There has been a great demand for more pictures of the on going pool project, so here they are. The pool received plaster yesterday. It is a 3M plaster finish, which means it has 3M color quartz in the plaster. This will give the pool water a beautiful blue color. The pool will be acid washed today as the last part of the prep and then we will begin filing with water. If Ty were here, he could be swimming by Saturday.
It was a beautiful day in San Diego for the wedding. We were so glad so many of our friends were able to attend the sealing. All of Joshua's friends came to help him celebrate the big day.
We were happy that members of our family were able to come and enjoy the day with us. Keith's parents came out with Joel who was their driver for the day and Mia's mom Jean also attended. Even Ty and Jessica along with Max and Mia were there! Not physically there, but they were there in spirit.
The traditional cutting of the cake went well with just a small amount of frosting ending up on Joshua's nose. Many important people showed up to offer congratulations.
It really opened up the backyard when all of the vegetation was removed. It was the first step of the larger renovation. This was after the pool was drained and all of the old concrete decking had been demolished and removed.
After the demolision they came back in and put new rebar in the pool and put in a "baja Reef" step in the shallow end and they built up the wall on the side of the pool where the sheer descents will go.
We began a renovation to our backyard in November and this was the removal of the hedges that have been there for years. We were glad to see them go so that we never have to cut them again.
